The existence of Jesus is widely accepted by historians. Non-Christian evidence, such as archeological evidence, points out that what has been known for generations corresponds to events that took place with the story of the birth of Jesus. We will first examine the birthplace of Jesus. Bethlehem: did the town exist during the 1st century, and was the town occupied during the time of Jesus by the Romans.
Did Jesus exist, or was he just a myth as people are claiming?
Birthplace Church of the Nativity?:
The Church of the Nativity holds immense significance in Christian history as the traditional site of Jesus Christ’s birth. Built in 339 AD by Emperor Constantine and his mother, St. Helena, over a cave believed to be the birthplace, it is one of the oldest continuously operating churches in the world. Despite many attempts over generations to erase this location as the birthplace of Jesus, the site has remained consistent.
There have been reports that there is no archeological evidence that Bethlehem was occupied in the 1st century BC through the 1st century AD; therefore, the birth of Jesus must be fake or unhistorical. But recent archaeological findings have uncovered there was a village that existed during the time of Jesus and the Romans during that period. This means that the birth stories that are mentioned in Matthew and Luke that were deemed historically inaccurate, the only sources relating to the birth of Jesus are WRONG.
The recent archaeological discoveries have proven this to be FALSE. The evidence has demonstrated that Jesus was probably born in a cave at the end of the 1st century BC in the village of Bethlehem. The cave was part of a house that is located underneath the Church of the Nativity
The church symbolizes the fulfillment of biblical prophecy about the Messiah’s birth and serves as a major pilgrimage destination, connecting believers with the foundational event of Christianity.
